Thank you for using Famous! Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect your information when you use the Famous app.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Famous, we collect the following data:

Face Data: When you take a photo or upload one to find your celebrity lookalike, we collect that image temporarily for processing. This is the only personal data we collect.
Usage Data: We collect anonymized information about how you interact with the app (e.g., crashes, events).

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to provide and enhance the app’s core functionality:

Face Data Usage: When you upload or take a photo, it is processed using a proprietary face comparison algorithm developed by our team. This algorithm analyzes facial features (e.g., eyes, nose, mouth) and compares them against a curated database of celebrity images to determine similarity. The comparison results are displayed within the app and saved only on your device. Your photo is not used for any other purpose.
Usage Data Usage: We collect anonymized usage data to help us identify bugs, improve app functionality, and enhance overall performance. This data is never linked to your personal identity.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We only share your data with the following third parties as necessary:

Cloud Storage Provider: Your photo may be temporarily stored on secure cloud servers during processing by our proprietary face comparison algorithm. The image is automatically deleted shortly after processing and is not added to any external or third-party database.
Firebase: We use Firebase to collect anonymized usage data (such as crashes and user interactions) to monitor app performance and improve user experience. This data is not linked to your identity.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required to comply with applicable laws or to protect our legal rights.

We do not share your data with any other third parties under any circumstances.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Face Data: Your image is stored on secure servers for processing. Once the analysis is complete, the image remains stored for a limited period as necessary for operational purposes. The results of the comparison are saved locally on your device only. We do not share or use your image for any other purposes.
Usage Data: Firebase stores anonymized interaction data as necessary, per its internal policies.

5. Security

We use industry-standard encryption to securely transmit your photos to AWS. Firebase data is fully anonymized. All data stored on your device is subject to your own device’s privacy and security settings. While no system is 100% secure, we do our best to protect your information.

6. Your Rights

Your photo is automatically deleted from our servers after processing (within 60 minutes).
We do not create or store personal accounts, and we do not retain your photos.
All analytics data is anonymous and cannot be linked to your identity.
To stop all data collection, you can simply uninstall the app.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of significant changes within the app. The “Effective Date” above indicates the latest revision.
